History of The Big Hug Box

After facing her own rare cancer diagnosis and realising the importance of the small acts of kindness and support, Founder of The Big Hug Box, Lisa Greissl, thought of a way that she could give back to other patients and their families facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

In consultation with patients, their families and specialists, The Big Hug Box came to life as a way to support patients with practical and empowering cancer care packages. Inside each Big Hug are products to help address some common side effects of treatment.

What originally started as a small fundraising initiative in 2018 has grown into much loved and widely known charity in Australia in which all profits are donated to support cancer wellness and support groups. Since its registration in 2018, The Big Hug Box has proudly donated over $40,000 to support cancer initiatives in support for better outcomes for patients.

The Big Hug Box is an incorporated association (New South Wales), a registered charity with the Australian Charity and Not For Profits Commission, and is registered with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission to operate across Australia.

The Big Hug Box's future continues to look bright with it's strong partnerships, reputation and its highly successful Random Hug of Kindness Delivery which sees patients receiving a Big Hug Box from generous donations of the community and individuals.
