The Ripple Effect
They say that an act of kindness creates a ripple effect with no end. Whilst Random Act of Kindness Day was on the 17th of February we continue to feel the wave of generosity from the community helping us to support Australians facing cancer by donating Random Hug of Kindness Boxes towards future deliveries.
In the lead-up to Random Act of Kindness Day over 100 Mini Random Hug of Kindness Boxes, or as we like to call them, Mini RHoK boxes were donated by the community allowing us to deliver to cancer centres in Victoria, New South Wales and reach as far as the Northern Territory.
Whilst the receiver will never know who showed them kindness, we think it is important to recognise the businesses who have chosen to and include kindness and initiative to support The Big Hug Box within our own community.
(NB: In reaching out to every organisation who has chosen to donate never expected a shout out in return for their generosity (a genuine act of kindness) - We have chosen to do this in this blog on our own accord )
The first RHoK Star to mention is Rebecca from Kurtzy's Flowers and Events who has donated an incredible 30 boxes over the last couple of years. We were mind blown to hear that at the end of a styled event that Bec would sit down with her team and look forward to donating a Big Hug Box as their extra reward for a successful event.
Another amazing small business creating beauty is Home Grown Flower Co. run by Sarah Hunter. Sarah creates the most beautiful home grown flower arrangements ( in which we have been lucky to receive one!) and has donated numerous boxes towards our deliveries.
Another new RHoK Star is Illumination of Life Photography who have also committed to donating a RHoK Box for every booking made in the month of March (if you have been thinking of getting some family photos now is the perfect time!). A very big thank you to Kim for creating special moments through your work and kindness!
The wave continues with also Harper Martin also choosing The Big Hug Box to donate a proportion of their sales towards our deliveries. Harper Martin have created a range of journals to help capture and preserve memories after the loss of a loved one. Created after the loss of her Father to cancer, Shaela has put a very special touch with her understanding and empathy in her "Remembering Me" Journal. Thank you Shaela, we are incredibly grateful for your support and for creating such a special product for so many struggling with grief.
Of course we also have to thank A La Mode the Label for their continued support and drive in each of our Big Hug Box deliveries, we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and creativity of Ali who continues to donate proceeds from sales of her Kindness Range.
To all our individual donors, we also would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and allowing us to support so many patients who are so grateful for your kindness and support. As we hope you have been able to see, each small act is making a big difference in the lives of the patients receiving a Big Hug Box as well as our cancer researchers.
So as you can see, we are one amazing kind hearted community!
