Bringing communities together to support local cancer patients
We’re proud to announce that we have launched a new way to gift Big Hug Boxes and support the Australian cancer community through our Sponsor Your Local Centre initiative.
If you’re a business that wants to provide comfort and care to cancer patients in your community – get in touch and we will facilitate a delivery to a nearby centre in need, on your behalf. Include your logo and brand name or remain anonymous, your support will help to brighten the day of those doing it tough facing up to treatment.
On the other hand, if you’re a cancer centre whose patients could really use a boost, register your centre and we’ll help find a local business ready to provide sponsorship.
Specialising in event floral design and styling, specifically for weddings, generous business owner Bec wanted to find a way to give back to the community, after each wedding they created.
Bec stumbled across The Big Hug Box organisation providing carefully curated cancer care packages to patients and was motivated by how The Big Hug Box came to be.
“Once we read Lisa’s story and what she was doing for people going through a similar experience to herself we couldn’t wait to help and support her vision.” – said Bec
Radiation therapist Wendy, from receiving facility, Icon Cancer Centre Gosford, knows all too well the struggles cancer patients face on their journeys.
“Our mission at Icon Cancer Centre is to help make those struggles easier by providing a caring and supportive environment. We see people at their lowest of lows and we strive to lift them as much as possible during their time with us. Receiving Big Hug Boxes to gift our patients with is incredibly special, the boxes truly make an impact and bring many smiles.” – said, Wendy
Wendy shared her gratitude “We cannot thank Kurtzy’s Styling enough for their continued generosity in donating the Big Hug Boxes to our centre. A huge thank you also to Lisa who makes this all possible, you are an amazing and inspiring lady.”
For any business who might be thinking of getting involved, Bec expressed how rewarding being involved is by saying - “We love that we might be supporting, even just one person through what must be such a difficult time.”
“We hope that every organisation could contribute to something bigger than themselves, like being part of a community of kindness like The Big Hug Box.”
