A special RHoK Delivery reaches The Allan Walker Cancer Centre

At The Big Hug Box we are always trying to spread our Random Hug of Kindness Boxes (RHoK) as far across Australia as they can go.
If you haven't yet heard of our RHoK deliveries they are were our donated Big Hug Boxes from amazingly generous individuals and businesses that are then delivered to patients at centres across Australia to patients needing a big hug. These deliveries have the most incredible ability to create laughter and conversation in treatment rooms and an energy that can not be described, but you will be able to see in the photos we are about to share with you.
Organising our deliveries does take a team effort. A lot of dedication and coordination is needed to make sure that they run with minimal interruption to a patient's session and today, thanks to Elizabeth Meusberger, Clinical Nurse Manager at the Allan Walker Cancer in the Northern Territory we have some incredibly special photos and stories to share with you today.
Elizabeth said "We were all so excited to be able to be part of such a special opportunity like this for the patients. To make sure that your Big Hugs reached the patients that really needed some extra support I sent an email around to all my staff with links to the Big Hug Box and explaining what the Hugs were and how they came to us and I received nominations from psychology, the cancer care coordinators, pharmacy and the chemo nurses too of who they thought would benefit from receiving a Big Hug."
Elizabeth and her team took so many photos of the delivery and we are so grateful to share them with you today.

We think these photos are so incredibly special and we thank the patients and staff for letting us share these moments with our community, it really does capture the magic and happiness created from our deliveries.
After the delivery and on behalf of her team Elizabeth also shared the following kind words
" The staff at AWCCC got to witness just a small snippet of what your boxes do for so many people facing tough times. The thought that has gone into the contents was well appreciated and for those that did receive them especially in these current times when we can’t just reach out and give our patients a big physical hug they had the same uplifting and comforting effect that a hug does brings people.
Once again THANKYOU so much for what you have created and made available for so many people not just at our centre but around the country.
We hope that this story today has brought some warmth to your heart and happiness shared by the team at the Allan Walker Centre.
On behalf of our Big Hug Box Team, we would like to say a very big thank you to Elizabeth Meusberger and her team in making this delivery happen. We would also like to thank Gary Kohlhagen who assisted in the coordination of ensuring that the boxes made it to the Northern Territory safely.
We really hope that we will be able to be with you for another amazing delivery in the future Elizabeth.
If you would like to donate a Mini RHoK or a RHoK Box to help in supporting as many patients as possible in our deliveries you can donate today.
